I am currently working on the New England Glass Smart Association. This will be a group of window cleaning companies that will have very special custom products they will use on your building. Products to maintain/clean, restore, and preserve. The above logo stands for Glass Smart Products. And below is a new Logo I have created for our association that we can put on our T Shirts, hats, and websites. I have had an Edu Meet at the 84 Diner in NJ, and am going to have one this month of September at the Poor Peoples Pub in Sanbornville NH.
The other side of "safe cleaning" involves inspections. The windows can be badly stained, have negative deflection problems, scratched, have the beginnings of or have complete seal failure. They might have Low e coatings on the wrong side, etched Low e coatings, or more. Crazed acrylic or hazed polycarbonate windows or skylights. Many houses now have very large mirrors that are very expensive to replace. These can have silver degeneration problems, be scratched, or have black edge. Polyester filmed windows can be wasted by a host of different conditions. Simple scotch tape can waste solar film. This knowledge is something that very few window cleaners know about. But without an understanding of these problems windows cannot be properly inspected. Even with this knowledge windows cannot be properly inspected before they are professionally cleaned. And most certainly Home Inspectors do not have the skill or the knowledge to clean and inspect all of the windows in a house. Neither are they paid to do this. They might be at a house for 1, 2, or maybe 3 hours. But the average window cleaning job takes about ten man hours. Larger homes can easily take up to 20 hours.
